I have been a massage therapist for 4 years.  I chose to be a therapist because I want to help people and work for myself.  I have not specialized in any one modality because I prefer to use all my tools and use what works for the client.  I work full time in massage therapy and part-time as an instructor at Florida Metropolitan University. When I am not working, I enjoy horseback riding.  I am married and have a wonderful son.   will do my best to build this chapter into an entity that will support and help its members.

I have been doing massage for 5 years, mostly working in Lakeland as a subcontractor. I started school when I was 19. By the time I was 20, I had received my license. I was working full time for 4 years, but at the same time going to the University to finish my college degree in Social Work. I now do massage part time, mostly house calls. Current occupation is a medical social worker. I practice deep tissue with pain relief and neuromuscular applications. I am 29 years old and I love to read all kinds of books. I love to go to the beach and watch the sunset. I would love to travel once I get more financially stable.

After dealing with chronic low back pain and sciatica for years, my Mother introduced me to her talented massage therapist--and it changed my life. Now pain free for over four years, I have a goal: to bring relief to as many pain sufferers as possible. My experience with pain (and all of the emotions that go with it) provides me with a unique perspective and capacity to provide compassion. I graduated from Florida Metropolitan University in Lakeland in 2007, became a Cranial Release Technique practitioner in 2008, and have my own practice in Highlands County. My husband is also a Licensed Massage Therapist. I am also blessed with a son and two wonderful stepchildren. Massage therapy continues to be my life's passion, and I hope to further the growth of our profession in the medical arena.

Cathy graduated form Florida Metropolitan University (known now as Everest Univ.) in 2007.  After graduation she went on to practice massage with Terry Kraemer, Lic. Neuromuscular Therapist, and is continuously learning everyday. Her desire to expand her knowledgeof the human body led her to take CEU's with Neurosomatic Educator, under the direction of Paul St. Johns.  She believes that a good massage therapist should continuously educate and challenge themselves on a regular basis.  This practice allows her to help people through the expansion of her skills.  Even though she has not been practicing for very long.  Cathy has many mentors that she respects and listens to for guidance, advice and direction.  Cathy feels we all have our strengths and weakness and if we work together as a team and organization, we can help improve our community, one body at a time.
